Maharaja Narinder Singh Grand Room

Room Overview:

This room is named after Maharaja Narinder Singh, the son of Maharaja Karam Singh who aided the British with supplies and carriages during the first Anglo- Sikh war and the uprising of 1857 and was rewarded with additional estates in return. He was a great builder and a patron of art and literature. He fortified Patiala by constructing ramparts and the gates around the city. In 1847 he constructed the Moti Bagh Palace which has 800 rooms and a compound of 5000 acres and was once considered the largest royal residence anywhere in the world.
